  8. Groening (Gray-ning) is the creator of Life in Hell, the
  9. angst-driven comic strip that is breaking out of cult barriers
  10. and stealing into Middle America. Plans are afoot to spin off
  11. the cartoonist's animated, ornery Simpson family of The Tracey
  12. Ullman Show into a prime-time series. The strip -- with its
  13. traumatized rabbit Binky, the illegitimate one-eared Bongo,
  14. twins Akbar and Jeff and their nephews Gooey, Screwy and
  15. Ratatouille -- now haunts 105 publications. Notes Groening
  16. incredulously: "One paper wanted me to change the strip's name
  17. to Life in Heck." Heavens!
